Steven Nikolau (Thalyn the Bard) is a graduate of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts and on-going Student/Teacher in the University of Life. He has 13 years of professional theatre under his sails. From mainstage musicals and plays at PCPA Theaterfest to vaudville and sketch comedy at the Great American Melodrama, from improv with Comedy Sportz and Playback Theatre to Shakespeare at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, from classical theatre with Studio H’Poko to Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding to over 6 years of tour shows, teaching, and mainstage performances with Maui Academy of Performing Arts, Steven’s theatrical journeys span the spectrum of this art form, giving him the tools and flexibility to jesterifically juggle all the characters he plays in life. These other ‘hats’ are that of an acting teacher, private coach, director, singer/song writer, creative consultant, script writer/doctor, dance floor igniter, and massage therapist.

    With his premillenial migration to Maui, came inspiration for the Pono Players Comedy Improv Troupe. With the help of a few brilliant friends from PCPA, this dream seed sprouted. It grew thru a few incarnations of very talented players and has come to a transformational fruition over the past few years. This is the birth of the InsPirates.
